Disaster Midwife
TACLOBAN, LEYTE - APRIL18: Maria Sheryl Librado, 20, waits in the postpartum room at the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center in the city of Tacloban, Philippines on April 18, 2014, not knowing if her baby is alive or dead. Librado was transferred from Bumi Wadah birthing clinic by the midwives to the hospital because her child was very premature. The midwives stayed with her while she birthed her first child weighing 2lbs 10oz. The hospital was damaged by the typhoon and is crowded with two women and babies to a bed, no running water, and few attending nurses or doctors. (Photo by Dana Romanoff/Reportage-by-Getty Images)
